Is Giving Hands a registered charity, and are donations tax-deductible?

Yes. Giving Hands is a registered not-for-profit in Canada under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act. Donations may be eligible for tax deductions—please consult your local tax authority for confirmation.

What happens if I give more than the cost of one Iftar meal?

Any extra funds are used to increase meal distribution, support more families, and expand our Ramadan and emergency aid programs across Gaza.

Can I donate in someone else’s name or memory?

Yes. You can donate on behalf of a loved one—whether living or deceased—and earn blessings for both you and them. This is especially powerful during Ramadan and for Sadaqah Jariyah.

What is the difference between Fidya and Kaffarah?

Fidya is paid by those unable to fast due to chronic illness or old age—feeding one person per missed fast (C$8). Kaffarah is atonement for intentionally broken fasts and requires feeding 60 people per missed fast (C$480).
