Within minutes, water, mud and debris tore through communities across Nepal. People ran for their lives as homes disappeared, roads were ripped apart and families were separated in the chaos. When the water moved on, it left people standing in mud and debris where their lives used to be.
More than 35 bridges have been destroyed and around 40 kilometres of road damaged, cutting off communities at the very moment they desperately need help.
But behind every number is somebody\'s mother, child, brother or sister. Someone who was there one moment and gone the next. And for 910 families still waiting for news, the nightmare isn\'t over.

SURVIVING THE FLOOD WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING
For some families, there is still no news. More than 900 people remain missing, leaving parents searching for children, children waiting for parents and families caught between hope and the fear of what they may hear next.
For those who survived, there is another reality to face. Imagine escaping with your life, only to turn around and realise there is nothing to go back to. Your home, clothes, food, bedding and the everyday things you use to care for your family can disappear in minutes.
Now people who had everything they needed for an ordinary day are trying to work out where they will sleep, what they will eat and how they will care for their children.
